If you are an aesthetician that works in eyelash extensions it is very important that you are working to increase your eyelash speed. Time is money in this business and if you are not able to apply eyelash extensions effectively there’s a good chance that you will be losing money with each client that sits down in the chair. Improving your accuracy in your efficiency with lash speed will help you to earn more, become a more in-demand lash technician, and improve the quality of your work. Here are the top five strategies you can use to increase your lash speed:

Keep Talking To a Minimum

Keeping talking to a minimum can be important. It’s great to connect with your clients but if you truly want to speed up your routine with your lashes it’s important to cut down the time that you take chatting with clients. Ask your clients for the space that you need to work and remain friendly but also focused.

Brush Only When Necessary

One of the biggest traps that many Lash artists fall into is excessively brushing. You don’t need to brush through the lashes regularly after you’ve placed each one. You can get better at isolation and then continue to brush. If you are able to continue isolating, you can make sure that all the lashes are applied individually and over time, your speed will increase. Make sure you place each extension as straight on the natural lash as you can. This will reduce the amount of crooked lashes you have at the end of your set and increase neatness of the set.

Reduce Coverage a Bit

You don’t have to provide 100% coverage. Many lash artists find themselves covering 100% of their client’s natural lashes but this can often take 30 to 40 min. more. Choosing an 80% coverage often produces very similar results and enhances the look of natural lashes.

Always Be Prepared

If you find that your regularly having to prepare for new clients every time that you get another client out of the chair, you can be spending more time cleaning and more time preparing. Getting lash kits ready ahead of time, having set out adhesives, and preparing several workstations that you can use can limit the amount of time that you have to spend in between appointments preparing. If you can prepare at the start of your day, you’ll save up to 5 min. with every client.
